When solving applied problems of the theory of plasticity, exact and approximate formulas for the strain rate intensity are used. The method of obtaining approximate formulas is explained. Using the example of drawing with wall thinning, it is shown that the usage ofapproximate formulas for the strain rate intensity can lead to significantly different results when calculating the accumulated strain to assess the mechanical properties of products.
Keywords: strain rate intensity, accumulated strain, drawing with wall thinning.
