Determination of residual process stresses using the method of laser interferometry

The residual stresses arising in the process of cutting in parts made of aluminum alloys were determined using laser interferometry. A brief description of the method, the algorithm for determining the residual stresses, the results of the study of the elements of the part subjected to various types of machining, as well as the magnitude of the change in the shape of the part in the presence of residual stressess, are presented in the article.
