The article deals with the analysis of the modern designs of the assemblable thread cutters which enable to regulate the cutting element angle towards the work piece’s axis and towards the lead angle value. Insert substrates are used during the thread processing, for regulating element angle in serial and small-scale production. On the basis thereof calculations of the accuracy of the cutting element positioning while using Vargus and Sandvik insert substrates were made.
