Features of a choice of direct drives rotation tool and workpiece on their torque in new generation gear-hobbing machines are considered. The influence on the required maximum torque of the drives, torsional rigidity of the chains, the quality of the drive tunings and the features of their operation in continuous tracking mode is shown.
