Surface hardening in hollowcathode glow discharge plasma before deposition of superhard coatings

In order to prevent brittle rupture of superhard coating the product surface before the coating synthesis is nitrided in hollow cathode glow discharge plasma the process vacuum chamber being used as the hollow cathode. Due to 30minuteslong nitriding microhardness of high speed steel was increased by 1.5 times.
