The design features of multilayer composite plates with biaxial thermal stability (with a minimum coefficient of linear thermal expansion) are considered. A typical medium-modular CFRP with a reinforcement structure [+45/–45] was investigated in the framework of the classical theory of laminated plates. It is shown that the well-known solution with angles [+45/–45], providing biaxial thermal stability, is high sensitivity to deviations of the angle of reinforcement, which inevitably arise in real technological processes.
Keywords: composite material, laminate, coefficient of linear thermal expansion, dimension thermostability, solution instability.
