The article presents the theoretical foundations of the approach to the conversion of organizations of the defense-industrial complex (DIC). In particular, the expediency of application of resource approach to management is proved. Possessing key competencies, organizations of the defense industry have the opportunity to develop and produce products, related not only to weapons and military vehicles, but also civilian products.
