Formation of the set of professional competencies in engineering activities: concept development and results from testing

The article defines the requirements to the professional competence of specialists in the field of engineering activities. For this purpose, the formation of the conceptual basis, the definition of engineering based on the selection of individual stages of the engineering products’ life cycle is proposed. To verify the list and identify the most important competences a questionnaire of enterprises are surveyed and results are presented.
