The article presents the results of an experiment to determine the numerical values of the energy dissipation coefficient when cutting materials. Based on the obtained data, the diagrams of energy dissipation coefficient, surface roughness and cutting temperature to deformation rate relationship have been built. Analysis of the diagrams indicates that surface quality and energy dissipation coefficient are correlated.
